A Love So True, Not Even Lockdown Could Break It

Golda had told her friends that staying at home due to lockdown regulations would either make or break her relationship with Darien.

Fortunately, it ended up being one of the happiest years of their lives. After six years together, Darien proposed to Golda in December 2020! 

Here’s what Golda had to say about their wedding

We went back and forth between eloping or waiting over a year to have a "normal" wedding with friends and family from all over. We opted for something in between because after dating for 6+ years, we were ready to be married. 

We planned and had a small wedding (30 guests) in San Diego, CA on April 30, 2021 and it was the happiest day of my life.

Our ceremony was very small due to the pandemic but we loved how intimate it was. One reason we fell in love with the venue was the barn door.

I instantly imagined a garland with roses and the aisle decorated with candles and greenery the moment we walked in. It was a brick and mortar venue so we could decorate however we wanted.

Before our wedding, our Pastor had told us he had a surprise but only if we trusted him (of course we trusted him!). During the wedding and after our vows, our Pastor told us to turn our backs to each other.

He said, "this is the last time that you can ever turn your back on each other". It was such a powerful and emotional moment during our ceremony and a moment that everyone talks about.
